A one week study of slavery and culture in Senegal. A good introductory trip to Africa. We will visit DAKAR, the nation’s capital; GOREE ISLAND, the home of the infamous slave house which many Black Americans ancestors passed through; THEIS, known for its production of massive handmade tapestries; FADIOUTH, a fishing village; and TOUBA, the religious capital of Senegal.
